HAPPY WEDDING DAY CINDY & LEE
July 27

Is it ever going to stop?????

IS IT EVER GOING TO STOP

I HOLD MY ARMS OUT TO YOU AND
YOU JUST DON'T SEE

I LISTEN FOR THE WORDS YOU SAY
BUT YOU DON'T SPEAK TO ME

I WANT TO BE THERE FOR YOU
BUT YOU DON'T COME AROUND

I WANT TO GIVE YOU MY LOVE
IS IT EVER GOING TO STOP????

Home Again

Had fun at my son's with his family.  We went to a lake and they played in the water and my grandson found another new girl friend.  He's quite the little man.  Had a great time.

July 15

having fun at Mike's

I am enjoying my time at Mike's but am getting homesick.  Going home on weekend.

Tyler is great but a handful.  Cara and I are keeping busy.  We went to the lake for the afternoon on Friday.  Had a few of Mike's friends over and did some singing with the WIFI.  Cara and I went shopping and we all went to see the lookoff.  You can almost see the whole valley from there.

Got to start Gardening

I have to start gardening soon.  The weather is miserable and wet.

I am going away at the end of the month so I have to get started here before I go.
Get on with the sunshine.  woo hooo

I Hate Petty People

I hate petty people

they laugh and play like they are happy with the world
and they are so petty they cannot see the truth.

one is safe with them as long as the answer is yes,
but let the answer be no and no matter what you have
sacrificed or given in the past
it is often forgotten.

I hate the fact that they are only there when they have their hand out
then they curse you and the world as if you've done them bad.

there is only one cure (according to them)
forget them, disown them, die alone.
and you know what????

maybe they are right
maybe they need to be alone to grow up.

WHY BOTHER TO FIGHT WITH THEM!!!!

April Fool's

It's April Fool's day today and boy was I fooled.

I thought the spring was supposed to be here but there is still snow in the yard.
Not just a bit of dirty snow evaporating away in the sun,
but hills of snow as high as me where it was left after Joe plowed it.

Anyway, the jokes on me.

P.S.  Happy birthday Nick

Snow is going

It's mild out and the snow is melting.  The wind is blowing and it is supposed to rain tonight.  By tormorrow, it should be mostly gone.

Snow Dreams

I love snow when it is fresh and new
the way it frames the ocean blue.

I love the way it sparkles when the sun hits it just right
and the way it glitters in the evening light.

The full moon shines and the shadows crawl across the top of the snow,
to the beach with its dark waters there to frame the glow

Of the evening's light on the new fallen snow.

Happy Birthday Cindy

I uploaded a few more pictures taken from the cottage.  Some are from the fall - up until today.  I love the view here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY

Nov. 23, 2008

It was sunny out today and the snow still was stuck on the trees.  Beautiful.

We lost some branches because the snow was so heavy.

It's Cindy's Birthday tomorrow.  Gotta call her.

More Snow

We're supposed to get more snow tonight, and it isn't even winter yet.

Oh well, this is nothing new for NOVA SCOTIA.  I hope it doesn't knock down any more wires like the other day did.
We had no power for 5 hours after the other one.

It's finally snowing out

Nov. 19, 2008

OUR FIRST SNOW DAY

It snowed out today, the first day this year
I watched my cats putting their feet in it for the first time.
You see, my cats are normally indoor cats
But I moved to the beach and they don't have to stay in the house anymore.

Missey did OK, but I rescued her this summer after she spent last winter outside on her own.
Measha beat the feet and ran like heck for shelter,
and Teddy did not know where to put his feet.

The first two came in but Teddy is still out there, probably in the barn.
Hope he comes home soon.

It's dark and I am hoping there is still some snow out tomorrow, so I can get a shot of it.

Today

Still nice out.  +9 and sunny.  Went to have my eyes checked today.  Going to get new glasses soon.   It usually takes a week or so  to get them.  Got to run.

April 06

today

It's sunny out today and +4 out right now, supposed to go to +6 celsius.  I think I might see what is growing in my flower beds.  There are some bulbs coming up.

I can't wait till it warms up for good.

Today

It is April 3rd.  It is cold and windy out.  I think March and April got mixed up.  It is +2 degrees out, but feels colder.  The snow is melting though and a bad time for grass fires.

Working on my Family History in Ancestry.  Came up with a few surprises.  Gotta get back at it.
March 31

Is Spring on it's way?

Looks like spring is finally on it's way.  It's going up to +5 today and +9 tomorrow(celcius).  Finally!

I can't wait to get out and start gardening.  Some of my bullbs are coming up now.
March 25

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream

Do You REMEMBER the WORDS?

Words and music by Ed McCurdy

Last night I had the strangest dream,
I never dreamed before.
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.
I dreamed I saw a mighty room,
The room was filled with men.
And the papers they were signing said
They'd never fight again.

And when the papers were all signed,
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads,
And grateful prayers were made.
And the people in the streets below,
They all danced round and round.
And guns and swords and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground.

Last night I had the strangest dream,
I never dreamed before.
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.
I dreamed I saw a mighty room,
The room was filled with men.
And the papers they were signing said
They'd never fight again.

We all should hold hands and sing as loud as we can.  Especially this time of year.  We all need some hope.

Let's extend a virtual hand all around the world and sing.  Let our voices be heard.  Let our hearts and peace  rule.

A TRIBUTE TO OUR BOYS OVER THERE

My son sent me a link to this web page and told me it would help explain a lot of what he feels.

November 17

WOW

Wow, it is 19 degrees celcius(66.2 degrees f.) out right now.  I can't believe it.  I already put all my summer clothes away and the weather is getting too warm for my winter clothes.  But hey, I am not complaining.

I haven't heard from any blogwalkers yet.  Where is everybody????

I have been trying to track down my elusive family, but so far no luck.  Will keep looking.
Have a great day everyone.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

LEST WE FORGET

In Flanders Fields

John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

Someone sent me this

Canadian Soldier

Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.

He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.

He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.

He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.

He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.

He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.

He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.

He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.

He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.

He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.

He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.

He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.

He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from Home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.

He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.

He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonder  if they'll ever meet

You criticize your government, and say that war never Solves anything.

He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.

He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.

He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.

He does exactly what he is told.

You stay at home and watch TV.

He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.

He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gunfire.

You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him.

If only there were more men like him!

If you support your troops, re-send this to everyone you know,

If it gets to another veteran who hasn't received it yet, it will bring back memories.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you,

Jesus Christ and the Canadian Soldier. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom

LOOKING FOR MY FAMILY

I have decided to look into my family tree again.  It has been a difficult search because my family has been closed mouth on my father's side.

My mother's side though is Pendlebury and Graves.  I am concentrating on the Pendlebury side for the time being.  However, my Grandfather died when my Mom was young and there is little information about him.  I will add more later.

In Honor of the KING

If you were King for one day and could make one law. What would it be?

If I were King for a day, I would pass a law that no man shall kill his brother, maim his sister, or dishonor their fellow man.
I would make this law permanent throughout the realm.  Children would look up to their elders, all men would respect men, religions would be compatible with each other.  There would be no more reasons to war with each other.
If only I were king for a day.
